In Estonia, pathology is called pathological anatomy, but in today's context, histological and cytological diagnostics and digital analysis are its important content and pre-requisites for clinical pathology. Teaching The Department of Microbiology teaches medical microbiology to all students of medical faculty. In addition to the mandatory courses, we offer several elective courses each year, including Microbiology of genital tract infections, Microbiota and health.

The Department of Pathophysiology is focused on the research-based teaching of the basis of disease at all levels of medical education. The aim of the course is to provide the students with basic knowledge of pathophysiology, an understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of diseases and how this knowledge can be used for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Supervising students Annual National Student Research Competition is a positive output of experimental work of the students obtained under supervision in the labs.
